Japan Trip Over2K

This is a story about a two-week job during the hottest days of summer in Japan, coinciding with the traditional Buddhist festival known as Obon when the entire country undergoes a massive internal migration.

We were there to provide tour support.

Our clients from Australia, accompanied by their parents and a nurse, using an electric wheelchair. They were actively exploring the Kansai area.

After catching the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagoya, we ventured to Hida Takayama on next day. We saw much more travellers from overseas than the local Japanese in there.

In Nagoya, we visited the iconic Nagoya Castle, the Toyota Museum, and Tokugawa Garden. Then, we made our way to Kyoto over the weekend.

However, right after that, a typhoon hit, causing a two-day delay in our Kyoto schedule. From then on, it was a busy itinerary, traveling every day from Kyoto to Kobe, Osaka, and Nara.

In Kyoto, in the super hot day, they enjoyed the bamboo groves, passed through the thousand Torii gates at Fushimi Inari, and in the evening, witnessed the annual lantern floating event and the Gozan no Okuribi.

In Kobe, they interacted with animals and admired the view from the mountaintop via a ropeway.

In Osaka, they explored Osaka Castle, took pictures with the Glico sign in Dotonbori, and tried making okonomiyaki.

In Nara, of course, they interacted with the deer and admired the Great Buddha.

On the last day in Kyoto, based on her friend’s recommendation, we visited Sanzen-in, surrounded by lush greenery.

It was a truly fulfilling journey, and we are immensely grateful for the opportunity to assist with this adventure.

Please take a look the YouTube of this remarkable journey.
